Tina is entering negotiations to star alongside Jason Bateman in This Is Where I Leave You, Warner Bros.’ adaptation of the book by Jonathan Tropper!
Shawn Levy is directing the movie and producing along with Paula Weinstein.
Tropper wrote the script, which centers on a man (Bateman) whose father dies and tasks his dysfunctional family comprised of four grown siblings with one last request: to spend seven days following the funeral together under the same roof for first time in a decade. If a deal comes together, Fey will play Bateman’s older sister, a woman who is married and whose first love now has brain damage.
The project, which is eyeing a production start in June in New York, also is casting other female roles: Bateman read actresses Ari Graynor, Isla Fisher, Zoe Saldana and Mary Elizabeth Winstead for the part of the romantic lead, but no decision has been made. Kathryn Hahn is looking likely to play Bateman’s sister-in-law.
Fey is expected to segue into the role after she wraps shooting a leading role in Disney’s The Muppets…Again!, the sequel to The Muppets, which is currently shooting in Europe.
According to interbridge.com Tina is going to appear on Late Night with Jimmy Fallon tomorrow, February 28, 2013 and on Live with Kelly & Michael on March 05, 2013. So, don’t forget to tune in!
Tina is featured in the new Time – Style & Design Spring 2013 issue and looks absolutely gorgeous!
A woman, as Dirty Harriet might have said, has got to know her limitations. In the past seven years Tina Fey has written a best-selling book; starred in three movies; created and nurtured a TV show that was so influential and critically acclaimed, it’s amazing it wasn’t canceled; won enough awards to mobilize her own metallic-statue army; and had a key part in contributing the following words and phrases to the lexicon: Blerg, What the what?! and I want to go to there. Oh, and given birth to two children. Plus, with one dead-on impression, possibly helped decide the 2008 presidential election.
So now she’s ready for a nice lie-down, thank you very much. Or at least a coffee. Arriving at an old-school bistro near her Manhattan home, she looks like any other local mom after the school run: sensible boots, puffy jacket, cardigan and striped T-shirt. She orders the coffee and her second breakfast (two eggs over hard plus ham). The first was the leftover half of her toddler’s discarded croissant.
Fey, 42, is working on a new character, Woman with Time on Her Hands. After seven years of 16-hour workdays, she and husband Jeff Richmond, who was an executive producer on the aforementioned TV show, 30 Rock, have bought a dog, started to spend more time with their kids Alice, 7, and Penelope, 19 months, and given some thought to what TV shows they might like to watch. They’ve never seen any Breaking Bad, for example. Fey admits to sometimes going to bed at 9 p.m. She further admits that what with the puppy and the toddler, she now has to put up with a different sort of ordure than she dealt with on the show.
Tina spoke to E! News backstage at the SAG Awards about her ‘life after 30 Rock’:
The 30 Rock creator and star, speaking to reporters backstage at the 19th Annual Screen Actors Guild Awards, where she won Outstanding Performance by a Female Actor in a Comedy Series, said she’s looking forward to “another generation of nerds finding” the acclaimed sitcom in reruns.
30 Rock is set to air its final episode on Thursday.
Fey’s got plans for Fey, too.
The actress said she’s set to begin filming a sequel to the 2011 Muppet reboot, The Muppets, in March in London.
In the summer, she said, she’ll reteam with Date Night spouse Steve Carell in the big-screen comedy, Mail-Order Groom.
Fey also talked of developing a new TV series, although it was unclear whether she intended to remain behind the scenes, or go back in front of the camera for that potential project. (Oh, and earlier tonight she seemed pretty optimistic about the Mean Girls musical!)
As for now, Fey is just happy. Looking at her Actor statuette, she said, “This was just a really lovely surprise.”
According to NME.com Tina is going to appear in a ‘The Muppets’ sequel along with Ray Liotta, Ricky Gervais and many more. The movie will be starting production this month in London and is set to be released in March 2014. We can’t wait!
Tina Fey and Amy Poehler did a fantastic job hosting the 2013 Golden Globe Awards. Critics have not stopped praising them and the show produced its best ratings in six years!
The Globes drew an impressive 19.7 million total viewers, according to Nielsen. That was up 17% compared with last year’s telecast. And even better for NBC, the viewing among adults ages 18 to 49 — the group most advertisers care about — soared 28%. The Globes demolished their competition for the night even though the CBS lineup got a great head start with an AFC championship game that ran into prime time in many markets.
Then Tina Fey and Amy Poehler took the stage at this year’s Golden Globes. Lovely, brilliant and utterly fearless, they made awards-show hosting an art form again, helming three hours of occasionally hilarious, occasionally emotional and surprisingly enjoyable TV. [...]
Seriously, they could have done an hour set and everyone would have been happy. Not since Jimmy Fallon hosted the Emmys three years ago has an awards show been this much fun.
Not only did the quality of the hosting further legitimize an event that the entertainment media inevitably go out of their way to disparage even as they grant it Oscar-like coverage, Poehler and Fey proved once and for all that the choice of host really does matter.
Congrats to both Tina and Amy on a great night!
